Default A friend and I on Barren

Yesterday on the way to the ramp I stopped at the bait shop and threw away a $5.00 bill on a bucket full of minnows. As it turned out at the end of the day they went for a swim over the side. Best jig we could find was a 1/16th oz chartreuse cabin creek jig with a pearl metal flake tail about 5' under a bobber. If that jig was more than a couple of feet from a stump you may as well reel in and try to hit that stump with your bobber. Kept 20 black crappie and 1 white, all of which were over 10". The lake level was at 539' and the water temp was 51. The wife and I had 6 fillets along with hush puppies, tater tots, and corn from our garden. What a meal! As for the rest of the catch, well they were promised to a young lady who had an excellent grades the last quarter and her and her family just love crappie. Couldn't think of a better trade off. Just love to see people smile.
Everything is possible. The impossible just takes longer!
