Pass the word along to all your Crappie.com member buddies !! We need to get more commitments before this event will be undertaken. A decision on go or no go will be made late next week. IF it's a go .... I'll put up a "needs list" and attending members can make it known what they'll volunteer to bring (based on number of likely attendees). Don't have anything to bring, or the needed items are already spoken for ... no problem; you can donate a couple of $$ to cover the Pavilion rental fee. You're still getting a big bang for your bucks, and you're contributing to the cause !!

Count is up to ~ 30 people with 4 weeks still to go. I'd really like to see more people show interest and post their "intent" on attending. I usually count on about 3/4 of those that "say" they're coming or are interested in coming .... to actually end up coming. Various things do happen, and get in the way of plans to attend ... and that's understandable. That's why I only count on 3/4 of the number showing interest, actually making it. These events are truly a "more the merrier" type of situation.

While this is the first Fall event we've had on Green, it's likely to not be the last. The interest was great enough, earlier in the year, that made me decide to give it a try. We make a success out of this Fall Brawl, and there will be more in the years to come. We may even consider making it a "more than one day" event, in the future. But, let's just concentrate on making this one a success, for now.

It would be held at Holmes Bend Marina ... with a fish fry following the days fishing. (if the weather permits)

Similar setup as the Spring Fling get together, but tapered down a bit on the door prizes.

For those that don't know what this is all about, or haven't attended one of our get togethers : we basically fish from daylight til about 1 or 2PM ... bring our catches in & clean them ... then our chef extraordinaire fries up the fish, french fries, & hushpuppies ... and volunteers bring other sides & desserts, and everybody chows down. Then, if we have some sponsors donate things to the cause .. we draw tickets from the hat, & give away the donations.

You do not have to bring anything, in order to attend ... food & prep items are strictly voluntary. We only ask that at least one person in your party be a Crappie.com member. We could, however, need some $ donations or pass the hat to cover the $50 fee for rental of the PicNic Pavilion.

It's still 6 weeks away ... but, we need to know about how many would attend, so that we can gauge whether or not to have the fish fry & if we'll need side dishes and all the prep items.

Post your replies with how many will be in your party !! The only thing "confirmed" at this point in time, is the date.

We'll have another thread for all that, Dave. Right now we're just trying to get enough interest in having the event. I'll make a determination on that later this week, then start the "needs" list.
