If they've told you you'll need it already and are checking it annually don't put it off. getting checked is good, but getting it fixed is better. I'm not going to sit here and tell you it'll be a bed of roses, but if it ruptures say 2 weeks before your check-up you'll be very lucky if you survive. Also the older you get the harder it is to get over it. I'm only 70 and I'm sure glad I decided not to wait. Sorry don't mean to be preaching but this is not called a "widow maker" for nothing.
PS Thanks for your service to the USA

Thanks for the concern, but I am not yet at that stage. I just have to get annual echo test and talk to my heart doctor to insure nothing has changed.

Make sure that you keep up with your appts. Maybe we'll meet on the water sometime, if we haven't already.

Amen to the appointments. In Jan I had a stint put in the vein that they call the widow maker. I said Huh. I guess this vein causes more heart attacks and kills a lot of men without major symptoms. Wasn't feeling good and took an effort to do something. In other words, it was begging to effect my crappie fishing. Now we can't have that. I left in march for Indiana and in may I did feel good and had another stent put in the rear vein. Felt good 10 days later so I fished a King Kat tournament on Morgantown, WV.

If it wasn't for good doctors and me concerned about the subtle changes in my body, the first doctor said that I was a walking heart attack. The HE%& with that, I am going fishing, slabfests and enjoying my CC family of freinds.
