    Default Walleye

Well folks I have been debating for long time if walleye is better than crappie. After tonight I believe it is better than crappie. Maybe it
is because don't get it that much, well don't catch, well don't know to catchem that much.

Tim, Green River is full of walleye. You just need a local to show you how. It is not that much different than long line trolling but with spinner rigs, heavy weights, and stouter gear dave

There are some true slobs in the lake. After the hot summer crappie bite dies down I will switch back over to bass and walleye for the dinner plate. They are not difficult to catch, but where they decide to stage at various times of the year are few. I've caught as many as four fish off of one spot two years ago after the high spring waters receded. Read some In-Fisherman articles and you will start to get an idea of how to approach them. I always catch a couple accidentally by trolling for papermouths every summer, usually a few muskies as well.

Tim, I agree with the taste. I think they're right on par with bluegills for being a sweet meat.

This is a picture of a friend of mine and myself at the end of April in Port Clinton, Ohio. (ok this is what I did when I missed the shin-dig) We went out on a charter called the Sassy Sal and did pretty good with these as the water temperature was a mere 42 degrees. I enjoy the taste of walleye and it had been alot of years since i'd caught them out of the western basin with my friend Gary. My favorite way to enjoy them? Why naked, of coarse.
