The deeper drops that were producing the day before produced one fish today. That east wind wore me out. I found some fish but it wasn't like the slaying that you and Tim put on em.

DBELL is absolutely correct. We had 22 in 4 hours on sunday and in the exact same spots monday barely any. We moved in shallower and found the fish monday. I believe the spawn has started for sure. All we caught yesterday, black and whites had a very dark belly on em.

Of the 38 crappie we cleaned Monday (iced down overnight from Sunday), only one was female and none had any bloody tail fins. I just can't help but think that the big females were laying in wait somewhere in deeper water off the area we were fishing.

mrdux, I can tell you, the big females are waiting for me...they always do...and I keep praying the weather will hold 'em off until my Mother gets better and I can get a few days on the lake! Ha Ha They are waiting patiently for me to get there 'cause we "gals" have some special understandings

The lake stabilized & started back up. That pulled the fish back off the drops.

    Good job, good lesson.
