The friend I have at our local DFW office has told me they've put them in Barren several years ago and most of my friends have caught at least one, i've drawn a blank.
Everything is possible. The impossible just takes longer!

No, RR ..... the "Magnolia Crappie" is a true crossbreed. It's a sterile triploid fish, derived from a female White Crappie & a male Blacknose Black Crappie. They retain the markings of a White Crappie, but have the stripe down the nose.
Here's the scoop on Magnolia Crappie :

    MDWFP - Magnolia Crappie

What BBD is showing is a Blacknose .... markings of a Black Crappie + the stripe.

Thats interesting stuff. Never heard of them before. I can think of multiple small lakes that could use them instead of having thousands of 6" crappie.

I caught this one last Friday in one of the local Ohio river feeder creeks. 2nd one I've caught in my lifetime, both in the last 2 years. Really rare in my area.
