A really long one unless you're in a boat that will run 70 mph. Probably close to 25 miles.

How far of a boat run would it be from buzzard rock to jonathon creek?

Shell run 55. What about from barkley dam ramp to jonathon creek. Just curious sorry for the crazy questions
Still a LONG way. I at google maps and I'm getting that it's about 20 miles from the Barkley dam to jonathan creek. Pretty long boat ride.
Yup. About 20 miles.
That's not a trip you'll want to make if the wind decides to get up at some point, either. The rollers on the north end get BIG with a north or south wind.
Most 2 stroke outboards get around 5 mpg on a good day, so you'll burn $40+ in fuel for a round trip. It would be safer, cheaper and possibly faster to just trailer over that way.
Cool deal. Thanks for the useful info guys. Appreciate it. Yea im not a big fan of the big waves
Man and I was questioning myself thinking about trying Pisgah, Smith and Duncan Bay from Moors or Big Bear![]()
It's a very pleasant trip....in your truck with the boat on the trailer. Otherwise it is a long rough ride if the wind comes up.
I ran from Moors to Craven's Bay once. It was a nice boat ride and didn't take a half-hour. Fished and messed around working south a bay at a time for 4 or 5 hours then headed back. 2 hours and 20 minutes of back crunching and wave spearing.
I put it on the trailer to cover long hauls now. It's easier on me and my truck gets better gas mileage than the boat.
