    Just curious if you know??
you've said deadline for entry is April 6th
I looked on their website and one page had the deadline at April 5th
and another page had it at April 4th. Do you know for sure when it is?
Also I see no online application for this tournament ???

I spoke to their office yesterday and they are at least half way to the required number of boats for the tournament to happen so it is pretty much a go. She said that even if they aren't quite to the 60 boats needed they are anticipating several teams signing up at the seminar. After April 4th you have to pay a $25 late fee per team. You can actually sign up all the way until and at the registration seminar on April 18th but again, you have to pay the late fee. I think you have to call the office to register for Kentucky Lake at 660-351-4187. If they aren't their leave a message. They are good about calling back

    Thanks for info Old Guide.
I knew they had the late option but last year I heard they canceled it out before then because they didn't have enough entrants. I fished the Crappie USA a few weeks ago and had a great time even though the weather was unreal. (20-30 +++ MPH winds). I had jelly legs the next day from fighting the trolling motor so hard. Are you going to give this one a go?? If we get the weather change they are predicting and it actually stays around then some of us Northern Lakes anglers might actually have a chance against the Blood/ Big Sandy guys and the huge fish they usually pull.

I'm thinking on fishing it loc. From what their office said this one will likely go on as scheduled. I remember that they canceled last year too so that is why I called and checked. I am going to go ahead and probably get registered this week or early next week to save the $25. I may have something going on that week and should know soon. She talked like as long as I register she can pend the payment and I can still save the $25 and if it falls through for me I won't be charged. Sounds like they will go above and beyond to help out. I was going to fish CUSA but my well dried up big time by weeks end. I was strugglin and after looking at the results and seeing so many of the guys I know down on the list I am glad I didn't fish it. I would have been donating my money. LOL I may hit one of the other upcoming CUSA tournaments. Thought about fishing Cumberland but they have closed the gates and are bringing it up. I read where the lake is to be at 700 feet by April 1 or a 15 foot jump in about a month. I figure that will scatter them good. And you are right about the north end having a chance. Some of my best crappie have come from Bear north in mid and late April. Let me know if you decide to fish it.

I have only fished Ky Lake twice. Are the fish larger in Blood/Big Sandy as opposed to Jonathon Creek or that end of the lake? I have retired and will be able to fish Ky. Lake some now and I can go to any part of it, so I am curious.

Are you planning on tournament fishing Larry? If so you will find the biggest crappie up against the dam in 60 feet of water hitting 2 ounce Perch colored jiggin spoons, oh, on the bottom. LOL!!! Now if you aren't fishing tournaments the answer is not really. I have caught fish well over two pounds from the north end in bays like Sledd, down to Big Sandy in Tennessee. Bays like Jonathan and Blood can be outstanding. As can the LBL bays. In truth I prefer the LBL bays to get away from the crowd and also when you find cover on the LBL it tends to hold more fish. Thanks to sidescanning I think it is because there just isn't as much available on that side of the lake. There is a lot to be said with time on the water and knowing the lake. It is hard to beat local knowledge but I have seen it more than once where someone from out of state who has rarely if ever fished Kentucky or Barkley comes to a tournament and cleans house. I think it is because they will try something new in a place many wouldn't consider fishing. Keeping an open mind here really helps! I am sure the more you fish Kentucky you will find your favorite spots as well. Just hit them all if you can. Good luck to you!!!
