Are you planning on tournament fishing Larry? If so you will find the biggest crappie up against the dam in 60 feet of water hitting 2 ounce Perch colored jiggin spoons, oh, on the bottom. LOL!!! Now if you aren't fishing tournaments the answer is not really. I have caught fish well over two pounds from the north end in bays like Sledd, down to Big Sandy in Tennessee. Bays like Jonathan and Blood can be outstanding. As can the LBL bays. In truth I prefer the LBL bays to get away from the crowd and also when you find cover on the LBL it tends to hold more fish. Thanks to sidescanning I think it is because there just isn't as much available on that side of the lake. There is a lot to be said with time on the water and knowing the lake. It is hard to beat local knowledge but I have seen it more than once where someone from out of state who has rarely if ever fished Kentucky or Barkley comes to a tournament and cleans house. I think it is because they will try something new in a place many wouldn't consider fishing. Keeping an open mind here really helps! I am sure the more you fish Kentucky you will find your favorite spots as well. Just hit them all if you can. Good luck to you!!!
