Default Things i learned while at Kentucky Lake

A battery that has been charged for a week may still be dead. Learned on the ramp
An aluminum deck lid will short out jumper cables and leave a scorch mark on the battery compartment lid while melting plastic on jumper cable handles and starting a small fire next to gas tank.
12v can bite especially when you are wet
Spedo uses water pressue to determine mph and if you pulled off the tube installing hummingbird you can flood out your console
Trolling motor cables are easy to replace
It can be VERY COLD IN MARCH
Parcells in draffenville has great food and bakery
People can still make you feel welcome no matter the weather or the fishing adventures your having. Thanks to all of you who still gave my sons and I some good stories and life lessons

And now you are smarter than before! Experience is a great teacher if you pay attention. I'm betting that jumper cable fire will be on your mind every single time you use cables for the rest of your life.

Thanks for the replies I forgot the most interesting part was the asian carp that landed itself in the boat Wednesday it had to be near 10 pounds and it scared the poop out of us. The trolling motor lost a steering cable Thursday. Good news is that Bass n Gas had the cables in stock and we replaced them this morning. Boat is all ready to go again. Good luck and enjoy the spring when it gets here.
