    Just something to think about....
I've spent the last 15 years trying to figure out how to spend more time down there. I never want to leave.

I live in Trigg County which in on Lake Barkley and absolutely LOVE it! Trigg County is one of the fastest growing counties in Kentucky and opening up to a lots of folks moving here from all over the county. From my Trigg County home, I have several nearby boatramps on Lake Barkley and can easily take the new four-lane thru LBL to KY Lake (less than 20 miles). Consequently, I fish both Ky and Barkley Lakes, including Blood River and the occasional trip to Big Sandy on KY Lake. Given the close proximity of both lakes, I can usually find a place where the fish are biting. I'm an ole Tennessee boy who moved to Kentucky just over 20 years ago and I'm glad I did. Trigg County, KY is a hunter and fisherman's paradise!

Excuse my typos in that last message. Being from Tennessee, I can "talk" better than I can "type."

Seriously, you guys have a great gig down there.
I love the LBL and the fact it wll never change. I'll be down again this year in early April for my normal 4 day but I'm going to want to see if I can get back again in Summer. In the meantime I'm going to check properties on Zillow so my wife and I can have idea what's available.

I've found the Kentucky Lake area a wonderful place to retire so far. I retired a year ago after following my career around the mid south for the last 35 years. I've settled in Murray Ky primarily because its close to the KY Lake, but also because it is a thriving small university town with good hospital, resturants and entertainment. Can launch at either Blood River, KenLake or Paris Landing in about 20 minutes. Murray was recently voted one of the "Friendliest Small Towns in America" and its easy to see why. If you like college basketball, they also have a pretty good team every year....Go Racers!

I have a while to go before retiring, maybe 10-12 years but I have been scoping out Marshall County myself. IF we hit the Lottery or fall into some money somewhere it will be sooner but I plan to fish and hunt out my life in the Lake area! There is also the benefit that Whiskers is completely off the lake half the time so others can catch a few! I am lucky I like catching trash fish (gills, redear and catfish) so when he is home I'll have something to do!

x2 on Murray! I'm far from retirement, but went to school and lived down there for 5 1/2 years. Great town full of great people!

I miss being able to fish Ky Lake so easy!
