Default How to catch a drum spider rig style

We'd finally seen the Biggins of Jonthan Creek and it was a blast with 37 keepers!Name: 018.jpg

Really enjoyed the trip and the company I had made the trip all the better.

Oh yea, the drum, out of the 8 rods we had out, he managed to wrap up 7 of them.

Nice haul. I feel your pain with the drum. If there is a trash fish withing 12 nautical miles of my bait, he's as good as caught.

Congrats to ya all on your trip . From the looks of that last pic with the drum, your about in the channel next to the bridge. That channel that runs under the bridge and out in the lake is a magnet for drum and ol stinky skip jack. Every time i have passed thru the channel going from one side to the other, I always catch a drum, perch or mostly skip jack .

    Hey slabseeker
I met you briefly on Friday in the same general area. How did you end up that day? The wind made it a little more of a pain compared to Thursday for sure.

We didn't fair as well on friday, I think we wound up with four keepers which we gave to a fella at the boat ramp who didn't get any that day......it put a smile on his face. It was so windy on friday that we went into little Jonathan to clear creek to get out of the wind but due to lack of water (less than 6') we started back out. After we cruised thru the boats that were drifting and not seeing any being caught, we decided to call it a trip and come home. All in all, it was an adventure that neither of us will forget. The pictures i've posted are for yall, we have the memories forever. Go make some of your own.

Nice catch! My buddy had a 12 to 15 pound asian bighead yesterday. It slimed his jacket and hood near his face and we had to smell it for 3 hours. Caught it in the mouth.
