Green River this weekend ????
Weeekend warrior looking for some tips for this Saturday ?? I know the lake will be up and muddy but looking for some suggestions. Mainly wanting to get on the water. This will be my only opportunity for the next 2 weeks so trying to make a go for some keepers. Would also like for you guys to keep me in your prayers as I am heading out for my first ever Mission trip next week. Thanks in advance and keep updating any "Hot tips" for the next few weeks , Lord willing I want to be back on the water as soon as I can. Thanks again.

The lake has come up 3 1/2 feet but it usually takes a couple of days before it muddys up. If it hasn't got muddy yet, try fishing in front of the mud line. You will also have to take into account that they are planning on pulling the lake back down starting tonight/tomorrow. Green River Lake Level | Green River Lake, Kentucky . Where are you heading to for your mission trip? Good luck and take care.

Will be there Saturday as well. Going to check out my Elite 7 and hope to catch enough to heat up the grease.

Thanks for the input Chucky. I know the fishing will be tough but who knows - may learn something new. By the way, I will be going to Nicaragua for my trip. Looking forward to what the Lord has prepared for me and my teammates. Thanks again .

Went to Green River today, put in at Holmes Bend. The water was muddy, water temp early was 34 - 36 deg. Broke thin ice in the bend above Holmes going up. Quit at 3:30 and had 10 keepers, caught several short fish and water temp was 39 - 40 deg. Tough day with plenty of wind.

Update on trip 3/9/2013
Just an update from my trip on 3/9/2013. Put in at ramp 1, headed to Butler Creek. Half way there had boat issues(first time out all year), wasn't getting any fuel. Trolled back(thank goodness for charged batteries), loaded up heading for home. Got about to C-ville and decided I was going fishing. So I stopped and found my line going into motor was loose. Decided to go over to Smith's Ridge and try again. Put in and headed out toward Robinson Creek. Started spider rigging in about 12' of water using jigs. Caught a couple of good keepers so worked my way to shallower water(8' - kind of muddy) Started picking up numbers of fish by tipping jigs with minnows. Ended up limiting out about 3 o'clock. Very pleasantly surprized that I did so well. Looks like they were staging up. Of course all that has changed with the cold and rains. By the way, My mission trip to Nicaragua was a huge success, we led (with the help of our LORD and SAVIOR) 7 People to Christ and even got to Baptist 2 young men in the Pacific Ocean. Don't think my life will ever be the same again. Looking forward to getting out and trying again.(where is spring) Left Nicaragua in 95 degree heat, came home to 22 degrees.Brrrrrrr!!
