All I do is cast jigs 1/16 ounce to 1/32 ounce. Any 6 foot medium action rod will do and you can save the extra money for something else. Got a friend who has a G-Loomis 250 dollar plus rod and I catch as many as he does. My rods usually run from the 30 to 40 dollar range. Just sayin'
