Try the berkley nano fil. It's fluoro made to be used ONLY on spinning reels. I have heard great things about it but haven't used it yet myself.

I cast jigs only for crappie and I was curious about the use of flourocarbon in the 4 to 6 pound range on spinning tackle.
Has anyone used it fishing heavy brush with a weedless jig? If so, how did it hold up as far as breaking off, strike detection and durability? Also, does the colder spring weather effect its usability in this kind of application? Sorry about so many questions.

I can't tell you on the fluoro so take this for what it is worth but the absolute best line I ever had for casting jigs and pulling slider grubs through trees was some chartreuse braid that was 12lb I think but like 2 lb diameter. You felt every tick and limb and that spongey up-take bite they have. Downsides are it was a bear to break off a jig if you needed to (most times those light wire hooks bent though) and after a while the chartreuse would fade out to a dull tannish yellow color.
I cast for crappie almost exclusively with the exception of a little crank trolling and a minner under a bobber while I am casting with another rod.
I haven't been able to find any that small in Bass Pro or any of the stores I buy my stuff at.
I don't cast but do use 4lb fluorocarbon on a couple of my jigging poles with spinning reels and I really like it.Has sensitivity of braid and holds up well fishing in brush and stake beds.I personally don't like braid as it's pretty easy to break a rod with instead of breaking line and have to have something super sharp to cut it with or it frays bad. My only complaint with fluoro its harder to see above water compared to hi vis mono.
Thank you all for the fantastic info..it definitaly gives me some options and I may try all of them. I don't watch my line so I have always stayed away from hi=vis but I would like to give that braid a shot also...thanks again!
This is what I use sometimes. Low memory and handles well on small spool spinning tackle.
