I found out Friday that somebody has recently taken over $3000 worth of snow goose decoys and related gear from my storage trailer at my shop. I would appreciate you guys being on the lookout for somebody trying to sell snow goose gear.
This couldn't come at a worse time since I'm scheduled to leave for MO on Wed to start hunting Friday. Now I get to deal with the insurance company that loves to send me bi-monthly bills to pay for the owner's new Vette or BMW but thinks my gear is worth pennies on the dollar. When I called the office Sat., the owner asked if I was sure I had my insurance with them? I pay the guy THOUSANDS each year in home, auto and business insurance and he lives a block from me but doesn't remember that I have insurance with him. Priceless!

The only thing better than a day of fishing. Is a week of fishing.
May be time to change insurance companies after you get this settled.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I know what you mean. I was burglarized in the 90’s and the insurance company wanted proof of value. Luckily I had serial numbers and some receits for my electronics and pictures but they still depreciate everything and as you said I ended up with “pennies on the dollar”
After that I dropped insurance for personal property.
I hope you are able to enjoy your hunting trip despite being ripped off by a low life crack head and the insurance company !
Sorry Doug. Hope you can get this mess straightened out. Especially since it is your livelihood. Sorry to hear this buddy. Good luck.
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.
Sorry to hear of your loss. My brother had to add camera's to his business. Showed two guys breaking into a salesmans car, guy had a shirt with numbers, police were not interested in the pictures.
Had an auto stolen 3 months ago, found 10 blocks away, out of gas and flat tire. Insurance had already paid the company, so it was theirs.
Point is the police and insurace have the attitude of "OH WELL!!![]()

I hate thieves. Been there & done that. I'd think about changing insurance agents also.
Dang cuz... That blows big time...
