    Default preserved minnows

Am wondering if anybody uses the minnows that are available in the little jars, maybe gulp is the name not sure, I don't fish much in the colder weather but on occasion we have a really nice day and I would like to get out but getting bait isn't a possibility anywhere close to me... march to around december I either catch them or buy them but never in the wintertime and was wondering if any of you guys have had any success with those.

Have used them in the past for catfish with no success whatsoever-I would have to imagine crappie would be similar in that they are predatory fish. I would rather have a selection of quality soft plastics and jigheads rather than bank on the vacuum packed preserved minnows.

Thanks, was hoping they were dynamite bait but I thought they would work about as well as you described them... Artificials just aren't my thing except in the spring, I was a bass fisherman for most of my fishing life and don't want to turn crappie fishing into the same kind of work that bass fishing was, I turned into a lazy good for nothing laid back kind of fisherman and don't want to jeopardize that... I guess I'll just have to wait till spring.
