Dick's Sporting Goods that is. They are starting their clearance sale. Right now it is 25%-50% off line, lures and tackle with prices ending in .93 and .97. In years past they will finally go to 50%-75% off everything ending in .93 and .97 including rods and reels and boat stuff. One year I got a St. Croix rod was $109.99 reduced to 59.97, so I ended up getting it for$24.00. Also picked up tiller handle trolling motor was $299.99 marked down to $199.97 and got 50% off, so I took it home for $99.47. Different stores have different items and mark down at different times but it should end in February. They also reprice things to the .93 and.97 category all during the sale.

Oh my title did get your attention didn't it!

When they gave in on the gun issue, I wrote them off my list. Good prices or not. If they won't stand up for all outdoorsmen, I won't stand up for them. I won't be spending any $$ there and I encourage others to do the same.

I returned the only gift I had bought there and ordered it from Amazon. They were dumb enough to ask why I was returning it.

Sorry if I struck a nerve. I guess I am unaware of what you are talking about. I tried looking it up and all I found was that they had pulled rifles from stores after the Newtown incident. If that is what your talking about, that is fine and it is your choice of course. I guess I view it differently. I see it as a company taking the high ground and not profiting on peoples fears during a prime time to make huge profits. They had rifles there yesterday and ammo as well.

I'll definitely be checking out my local Dick's store. A person does what they have to do, if I can't afford some of these items during peak times, you can't let politics that you don't necessarily agree with keep you from purchasing what you need. Thanks for posting this.

Not trying to start anything. I just made my mind up a day or two after the school shooting, when Dick's took the black rifles off the shelves, that I could not support a business that does not support me.

I hope you get all kinds of good deals. Your politics and mine do not have to agree as long as our rights to do what we lawfully please to do are not taken away because others may think we don't need those rights.

went yesterday to see what they had. Prices ending in .93 or .97 were marked down 25%. Not quite 50% yet. Maybe next week. Didn't really see a whole lot marked down either.
