    Default Green River Lake

Anyone fish the "other side" of the lake, Roberson Creek? We use to 20 years ago. It would be a lot closer for us and maybe not as crowded?
    Thanks

Almost always less crowded in the creek and I have actually done quite well once you get past the "business" of the State Park. There is a real good flat and a couple of rock walls that are very productive. I have also ran across a lot of manmade brush piles in some of the smaller coves that have been productive. There are a good number of locals that regularly fish the area but nowhere near the likes of the great boat jam of Pikes Ridge.

Rowdy ... I used to fish the Robinson Creek area, mostly from the dam back to the incoming creek itself. Goat Island was always pretty good, for me. Used to camp at the Lone Valley Campground, and fished those areas around the last week of April. Mostly we would just cast RR's & jigs to the bank, but occasionally we'd longline troll them ... or drift with minners.

I think the Holmes Bend area starts earlier, which is why a lot of people congregate in that area. Plus the marina & all its facilities are a factor to some. Lots of brushpiles & stuff are planted in that area, too.

    Rowdy,
Another option to save you some distance is to put in at Site 1. It is not far from Lone Valley.
I do 90% of my fishing from site 1 to butler creek
Mostly a matter of were you spend the most time getting to know the lake

    Good luck

Not sure were you live in Hart co, but Nolin might be closer and the quality there this past year has been very good.

I've never fished Green River Lake but am organizing a fishing trip for the men in my church for April 28. We plan to stay at Holmes Bend Marina and fish out of there. Any tips or areas we should fish for guys who are not at all familiar with the lake? I have checked for up to date fishing reports online but there aren't many--most are a year or three old. Thanks for any reply.
