    Default Barren River

Have some family in the area, thought we may give Barren a try in the morning. Is there a store in the area I can pickup some minnows? Typically, a longline trolling guy, but thought I would try a little spider rigging.

Not familiar with the area, so if anyone knows where I can buy minnows it would be greatly appreciated.

Will post results when we get back.

    Thanks,
    John

Coming out of Glasgow there is a Jr. Foods type store that opens at 6. It is on the right at the last light. There is also a store between 31E and the dam on the other end of the lake. Coming from Bowling Green there is a place that was called Ranger Bob's I believe. Someone told me it changed hands and name.Hope this helps.

Like Larry said the Jr. Foods, there is J & L Market on Hwy 252 thats out between 31E and the dam, and The Landing which is Ranger Bob's I have been having the best luck with The Landing theirs have been a little bigger than the others, but it just depends on where you are comming from and where you are putting in.

J&L Market if you are coming from the south. It is on the road that goes past Ranger Bobs and over the dam but much closer to 31-E and on the south side of the lake.

Not sure what the lake level is right now but if it is fairly low I would concentrate on lay down on the steeper bluff walls. If the water is all theway down yet you might could find some good stump flats near creek channels adn try them for the spider rigging.

    Good luck.

I am planning on going tomorrow too. Will be spider rigging out of a Bass Tracker TX170 with a crappie.com sticker on it. I will be putting in at the State boat ramp.

I will be at the state ramp as well. I will be in a red and white ranger bassboat (converted to crappie fish). I'll have my 14 yr old son with me. Should be a great day to be out. Doubt we will catch many fish, but that is secondary for us. If you see us stop by and say hello.

Well, this trip will have to be postponed until tomorrow morning. Spending the day researching new TM batteries. Hope to get this wrapped up soon.
