Well, it was cold & windy, but we were determined !! I only got to take a few pics, since the wind was relentless and followed me wherever I went![]()
Seriously ... we'd go to a bank that was "out of the wind" & with relatively calm water, and no sooner than I'd get the trolling motor down .... BAM, here'd come the wind from whatever direction was most likely to create a problem with staying on a spot... and it happened over & over & over &
why Ma Nature was so ticked off at me, but she was not a happy camper for some reason or another & must have thought it was MY fault
Anyway, all that aside ... we stayed at Holmes Bend, in one of their cottages. Very nice lodgings, very friendly staff, great food .... so thanks to them for their hospitality.
Total fish caught - somewhere around 100
Total keepers kept & cleaned - 30
Size range - 9" - 12" fish
Depth range fished - 15 to 24 feet of water
Water surface temp : Fri - 71* ... Sat & Sun - 61-62* (thanks to a cold rain all night Friday night !! )
What we were looking for :
(sorry about the fuzzy pic ... I was COLD)
What we saw most often :
What happened when we saw images like this on the depth finder (notice the long pole is starting to dip down, & at the same time the shorter pole's line is heading back under the boat !! )
Then my partner Carl would "go on point" :
And while I was watching him & trying to get a few pics ... MY pole does a little bounce & dip, so I have to stop playing photographer & go back to playing "fisherman" ... and haul this one in :
And put him in with his friends & family :
And just so you know what the conditions were "really" like ... here's a picture of the lake when it was calm enough to take a picture, and not have to be concentrating on the trolling motor, so as to not be slammed against the rock walls(I think this was about the calmest time/spot we were on, the whole 3 days ... and even that only lasted for the few seconds it took me to take the picture
)
And while Carl & I were battling the 40deg temps, drizzling rain, & 15mph winds blowing ever which a way all at the same time .... my friends, Chucky & T.slabseeker were enjoying the calm waters & balmy weather down at KY Lake

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Thanks for the report CP, pics add a nice touch !
I fished Friday the26th. The wind and the water were sure rough. Didn't have as much luck as yall did but it was just nice to be on the water. Found deep brush piles between 20-30 ft and got a few fish when I could stay on them. Will surely be back this weekend for another round. Good fishin.
Cp......Looks like you and Carl did fair with the weather conditions you were dealing with. And i guess that Carl got the keepers again, with no invite for
the fish fry.
The weather was balmy and calm Sun 21. The 22 thru 25, temps were 80-83, winds 15-25 each day. Fri, temps 48, winds gusting to 32 and rain all day. Sat sun/cloudy, temps 46, winds gusting to 39. The best fishing weather i have been in for awhile.
Do you all have plans on returning?
Yeah, kinda the same weather we had here last week ... 70-80's until Day 1 of my Vacation, then a 40deg drop in temps and a constant 15-20mph wind (w/higher gusts), along with some rain ... and it ain't got any better since
Carl will get his half ... I learned my lesson on that deal
I still have to make at least one more trip down there ... gotta go see Cuzzin !!
