Have a trip planned Oct 25-27 to Rough River Lake. I have only fished there once about 15 years ago. Any suggestions on certain creeks or areas better than others. Any suggestions or help is appreciated. Jig colors, patterns for late October better than others. PM if you want.
Thanks in advance,
Bassky

Charley2,
What is the best boat ramp in that area? Is the lake still low? Jig colors bite vs. minnow/float?
Thanks for your input, appreciated.
the lake is down about 4feet today,by the 25th. it could be 15 or so down. the state ramp my be your best bet. jigs at that time should be best. colors ? I like White .
Charley2,
Wow, 15' below summer pool. When do they start dropping the lake? Sounds like the dam area would be the area, say most safe? Any areas close to the dam that are better than others? North Fork? Is there standing timber up in this area of the lake? Bait shop or marina with bait up by the dam? We are staying at the state park resort.

One week away. Any updates on lake levels, water temps and are you catching any crappie?

Bassky ... I don't fish Rough, so I can't give you any catch reports, but I can give you these links
http://www.lrl.usace.army.mil/rrl/ (lake levels & lake temps links)
And click on the "raw data" link at the top of that page for some precise info on water temps at depths & dissolved oxygen at depths.

Thanks Crappiepappy. I have this link bookmarked. I will look at the raw data, thanks for the tips.

Ok guys I will be heading down Thursday afternoon. Tell me what the crappie are doing besides swimming?
Depth, water conditions, jigs/minnows, whatever. Any help sure is appreciated. Will be putting in at State Park ramp.
Thanks,
Bassky
