    Default Another CKCA........

CKCA is having another open night tourney for anyone that is enterested.

    Green River Lake
    Saturday night July 21 , 2012
    Holmes Bend marina
    7:30 pm - 1:00 am est
$ 20.00 per boat / $10.00 big fish per boat

David Noel and Ricky Baker will be there about a hour before start time. Everyone leaves at the same time/same ramp.
You can use fishing lights. All other rules you can look at here. Flash Intro Page
Hopefully the lake will be fishable then

They are going to have to start paying me to post these or atleast give me a 3lb handicapy in the tourney if i fish Rofl.

I think you're right, Chuck !! They do owe you "some" compensation for saving them ad/flyer $$ Rofl

But, seriously ... there are (were?) CKCA members that are C.c. members, so why haven't we heard anything from THEM ?? If they (CKCA) were more involved in the routine discussions of this forum, I think it would only add more members to their ranks. It appears as though they only joined C.c. to get their foot in the door & sell their club membership/tournament idea ... and nothing more. IMHO ... that cheapens the whole connection, and may have put off forum members from considering joining their "club". And while I do realize that these tourneys that you're passing on the info about, are "open" tourneys ... I'm sure that it's a simple ad campaign, to garner interest in the CKCA. That may be a primary reason for these "opens", or it could be a secondary reason ... but, there's still a connection.

I'm just curious why the founders of CKCA haven't taken advantage of membership in this site, to promote their club, their tourneys, and the sport in general ... by being an informative member, joining in the discussions, and promoting the connection between their club & the site

    Hey Cp...

The fellow who was the "president" the first year was the one who would get on here to talk about CKCA and their membership/tourneys. But after the first year they kinda found that he was trying to put things/rules to his favor or his buddies. David and ricky " now in charge" are trying to do a respectable/family/fun club. Althou, they are learning themselves on how a club should run. I myself, had plan on speaking with them about joining in on c.c. Ricky is about as good with a computer as i am at knitting. I know his wife does any of the computer he needs done. I am not sure about David. There may be a motive behind the "open" tourneys, i'm not sure. I have only fished one night tourney with them but they didn't speak about the CKCA or asking anyone about joining that i heard. The only thing i did see was that they passed out the fall schedule to all members. The last few times that they have called me and said they were having an "open" tourney, they didn't ask if i know anyone who wants to join. They would ask me if i knew anybody that would want to fish in a tourney. I guess i made the mistake of telling them that alot of people that fishes Green is on c.c. Then thats where it started.

But i will speak to them. If i need to i will show them what they need to do about getting on hereThumbs Up.

Thanks, Chuck .... I really do think both organizations would benefit from a connection.

I had my doubts & suspicions about the founders motives, from the get go, but bit my tongue & waited to see how it would pan out. I wish the new group much success, and hope they can accomplish their goals.

chucky i know david and ricky are good guys and are trying to do the right thing with the tourneys. but my problem with it is when they change the rules where everybody puts in at the same place and leaves at the same time, and that is fine. but by doing that the members should get to have a say in what lakes to fish and where to put in at. and then shorten the tourneys?????? i just dont understand that.

I know what you mean. I have never been invited to a "meeting" to discuss what lakes and ramps. But then, i never been invited to a crappieusa meeting neither. I was going to ask why the shorten the night tourneys at the first but didn't fish it. I forgot at the last one but will this one. I think they may have shorten them so when people left, they wasn't so tired to drive home . I do know at the last one, me and my son was the only ones to go back out after the tourney to fish more. Everybody else left and when home. I can't see driving 1 1/2-2 hours to fish for just 5.5 hours . But, for right now for 20 bucks to fish it, when i would be fishing at night anyway.

but the difference in crappie usa and ckca is that the people running crappie usa dont fish the tourney and they do in ckca. so if they dont know an area they are not going to have a tourney there. for example how many ramp is on cumblerland and the only one they have them out of is conley bottoms. if they would have them out of burnside it would save you all alot of driving. or why not around jamestown???????? it is because they know white oak creek and that is the only place close. i maybe wrong but that is what i feel.

I don't know why they pick the launch areas that they do. That is really something you need to ask them. They asked me to post about having night tourney to try and get more people to show if they want.
If you notice, i don't post about the regular tourneys. I will do the night ones because anybody can fish them. I fish White oak, i have never seen David and Ricky up there. Does'nt mean they don't, i just have never seen them up there. The only place i have seen them fish is the main lake. I saw that they have Cave run on there this year but launching from a ramp that is farther away. They were going to fish there last spring but didn't because you have to get a permit to launch and park at Scotts creek( i think thats the name). There are people from crappieusa that fishes the tourneys. At the classic last your i met Larry Clark. He is incharge of advertise and something else, i'm not sure. He stayed at fishtails where Freddy and Jackie were. He fished the classic. He finished 1st in the semi pro at Green this year, so i don't.

Talk to them. Tell them how you feel. If you don't like their answers, don't fish them. Start your own crappie club . Between Green and Cumberland there are more crappie fisherman there than just about anywhere. I would join. Let me know buddy.

Nathan, hope to see you and your son there. That's what its about, having fun. When i fished the last one with my son, who just got back home, we sat out there cutting up, joking and laughing. We almost
didn't make it back in time.
