Hey Paul, I know several people who does it will good results. At least it will not be hot fishing at night. I just fished Fri and Sat. I thought a couple times i was going to have to put on a sweatshirt.

I know most guys use a light a night for crappie fishing.
Has anyone ever tried casting jigs to brush / wood at night ?
I want to try it this week and didn't know how crappie feed at night without a light. Always had good luck with the bass this way.

I've done it a few times, around docks with the big halogen lights (mounted on side of dock, just a foot or so above surface). Only caught a single fish on each occasion, on jigs & a Roadrunner. They all came from the shadows, just outside of the circle of light.
If you've got a blacklight, I see no reason why you couldn't cast jigs for Crappie.... they seem to be able to find baitfish in the dark, so I see no reason why they couldn't home in on a jig just as easily. Been wanting to try it, myself ... so if you try it, report back on what/where/how you did !!

I remember a trip several years ago where they kept hitting in the dark for about 30 minutes. I have heard they will hit on a full moon but haven't tried it. Used to catch them at night with small jigs around lighted docks. Caught some nice shellcrackers too. Makes it easier to track the bait.
