Here's the latest report (4/13/12) from Cedar Creek Lake Outfitters:
. "The Water temp is ranging from 58 to 60 degrees. Good numbers of bass are being caught in very shallow water on wood in the creek arms. Top water baits such as stick baits and spinnerbaits seem to be working best right now. Crappie have been caught deeper recently in 6 - 9 feet around trees on minnows. Every time a cold front moves in the crappie remain in the same areas, but move a few feet deeper (from 2-3 feet to 6-9 feet). Neither bass or crappie have spawned yet, so I would expect the fishing to really improve as the weather continues to warm the water temp back up into the 60’s. Nice hand sized bluegill have been caught recently on redworms, waxworms, and pieces of nightcrawlers in shallow water. I haven’t heard anything on the catfish this week, not to say they aren’t biting."
I may be down there, tomorrow, too. Thinking about maybe giving the Crappie & Shellcrackers a try.
