Cool Do you like where you live based on Fishing and the Outdoors ?

Do you like where you live based on Fishing, Hunting, and the Outdoors ?

I live 15 miles west of Kentucky Lake. So I will say Yes, I do like where I live based on Fishing.

KY Lake is 160,000 acres of Water. Barkley Lake is 57,000 acres of water.

So I live within 15 miles of nearly 220,000 acres of Lakes.

There is also over 200,000 acres of Public Hunting land in the KY Lake area .

    10 minutes from Lake Russell
25 minutes from Clark Hill Lake
    20 minutes from Lake Hartwell
an hour to several more lakes

Some great hog, turkey and deer hunting in any direction from home. And if you like coyote hunting we've got plenty.

I'd say it dont get any better than this.Thumbs Up

I'm 2 1/2 hours from Kentucky Lake, 35 minutes from Barren River Lake. I sure wish I lived closer to Kentucky Lake, but overall am happy where I am. Got great deer and turkey hunting in my neck of the woods.

I live in Northeast Michigan. I'm surrounded by National Forest. In this area there are 60 lakes that you can get to in 30 min. Not all are good and some might not be fish-able. But for fishing, hunting & camping, we have it all. I would love to live down South where they catch all the Crappie, but overall, I like where I am.

I've never lived anywhere else, but this is a great area. Great fishing, big deer and lots of turkeys. Of course we also have lots of tourists.

3 min. from the Tennessee river
5 min. from the Ohio and Cumberland rivers
10 min from KY Lake, Barkley Lake and Smithland Pool

Draw a triagle from Green River Lake, Nolin River Lake and Barren River Lake...my house is in the dead center of that triangle. I can't argue much with that because I'm within 45 minutes of any of the three lakes and they each have their hot time of the year. I grew up as a walleye fisherman and both Green and Nolin have a strong population of eyes to keep me busy when I'm not on the hunt for crappie.

That actually adds up to 217,000 acres of water unless you're counting my bird bath & my grand kid's wade'n pool. Sorry but I couldn't resist.

I live 15 min from Ky lake, 25 min from Barkley, 30 min from Smithland Pool, & 45 min from Ballard Bottoms (good fish'n there too). During the camp'n season I live right on Ky lake at Big Bear. In other words I live in heaven!

I've shot deer & turkey off my back porch.
