Hey Fred I do fish the river some. It can be very tough at times. The crappie will move up in the creeks the first of April. Lower Howard's creek at halls will have fish in it around April. If you are going to fish off the bank I would go to the mouth of Tate's creek at Valley view. It has a bridge over it with easy access to the water.
