No that was not me, mrdux. I caught my crappie on Friday and there was not a lot of boat traffic. But....I went back about 4:00pm yesterday (Sunday) afternoon, just to kill some time, enjoy the lake and watch the KenLake fireworks. I ended up using a jigging spoon in the mouths of some of the small bays and caught the heck out of largemouth bass. Not monsters, but from 2 to 4 lbs. I had a blast. This time of year, a jigging spoon is one of the best ( and most overlooked) ways to catch all kinds of fish, from crappie to catfish and everything in between. I found the bass in 16 to 18 ft of water chasing large schools of minnows and really hammered them. Several times, as I was reeling one in, I'd see two or three other fish following it. By the way, I was surprised by what I thought was light boat traffic yesterday afternoon. If you want to see boat traffic, get over on Barkley down around the Kuttawa/Buzzard Rock area. I was there last Saturday and had to quit fishing because of all the boats. I can only imagine what it was like there yesterday.
