Had 15 keepers on Sunday and a bunch of short fish. I got pounded by the wind and rec boaters. Most were 10.5" and under but did have one 13.5"er.
for my education can some one explain why the large numbers of fish on the main lake seem to have disappeared and started biting so shallow up in the river ?
Came out with 40 on Sunday.
seems that some of the fish on green STILL have eggs.????? maybe why some are shallow??
I am glad that most was able to get on some fish.![]()
I didn't get to go. Still was not feeling good so to keep my wife and kids from killing me i played it safe. I will be there this Friday and Saturday.
Slabeye - you two just need to stay at home.Rofl
Colayn, Sorry i didn't see your post for 6-11 before I posted but I thought I would post
this thread that way it would be for that weekend for Green River lake. Kinda like a fishing report for Green River lake and it may offer some info to help others. I may start doing a thread every Sunday and who ever wants to add info the better.
Also like slabslayer1 sugguested, The crappie may be still trying to spawn. Last year 2010 we were still catching large numbers of keepers on the weekends in May and the water temp then was 74-78. We were in 8-5 fow. The spawn was just past the peak when the flood came. I'd say most were done spawn. But this years flood was in a way before the spawn and with the levels of water up and down the crappie held their eggs.
I am not saying that this is what is happening, this is just my suggestion.
Hope to see some of ya on the waters. Good luck!
