Default Need Ky passport, and Blood River intel

Going to be traveling down to the fine state of Kentucky (Ky Lake) where the local people are warm and friendly and are the very definition of southern hospitality. Just wondered if I needed to get a Ky passport ? Somebody on this KY board is responsible for issuing those I believe...was it Quackrstackr, or mepperson, mrdux ?

Anyhow, I will be in Blood River area and have a handle on the crappie and LM Bass, but hoping to switch it up this yr a little and spend a little more time on the red ear / bluegill, sauger, and small mouth. If any of you there have some intel you would share with me on these species, techniques, and areas to target in the BR area.... I will gladly reward the best tip with some of my hand tied bluegill and crappie jigs. You can PM me.

I know you guys have had a bit of a rough spring, but weather patterns are changing now I believe . Looking forward to the visit.

I came in over the border a little after the sidewalks were rolled up....like 730pm.....but I never left! Easy to sneek in on these fellers!

I heard you could slip by them pretty easy when the ball mason jar was being passed around over on wisker's dock. Just what I heard. Something about laying on the ground and staring up at the clouds or something like that.

Still some fish on the beds but I don't know how much longer they will be there. They are getting harder to locate than they were a few weeks ago.

On the upside, they have finally started hitting artificials halfway decent again since the water has stabilized.

Yeah, we cleaned 114 this weekend, but only 13 were redears. They are still there, but it seems not in the usual places. Things should pick up again (I hope) but it may be too hot for mid-day fishing. I'm switching to night time white bass and hybrid fishing soon. Less traffic, cooler temps, and bigger fillets!

My passport application territory is north of Eggner's Ferry bridge. I slipped up and let BBD and cajun cooker climb the fence and the whole place has gone to......you get the picture.

I don't issue passes but I think the lake is open to all, even hoosiers. I don't fish north of the bridge much and stay mainly around the Blood River areas. PM me and I will give you all of Quackrstackr's honey holes.

Sounds like a pretty good weekend haul given the holiday pleasure boat pressure. We may also have to switch to some night time fishing given the 90's temps that are upon us. Are the whites surfacing in the jumps yet? By hybrids..you talking about wipers? We usually pick up a few whites while trolling, however strangely enough didn't hit a one last yr...but I heard they were more out on the main lake then. Also, with all that high water...what is the skeeter situation down there now? We have been plagued with biting midges up here in Indiana.

Yeah, that is why I am staying south of the bridge. I kind of thought that northern section gone to heck in a hand basket...as we say up here in So Indiana.
