That's funny, he said he was giving me your honey holes in the PM he sent me. It would be unsportsmanlike for me to take advantage of information gained in this manner, so I am just going to put those gps coords in my bird but not actually inhale.

I have talked to a lot of people that are catching good numbers of Largemouth Bass, and White Bass.

The Bluegill, and Redear fishing is good right now, the heat shouldn't be a big factor early in the morning.

I will be on the lake the next few days.

Sounds like you all had a good day. Were the Redear good sized?

Yeah, the bugs can be bad right now, Just east of here they are getting a big Cicada outbreak, If you go over towards Dover, Tennessee you can here them by the millions. I remember back around 2003, or 2004 the KY Lake area had a big Cicada outbreak, and they were falling out of the trees and into the lake, providing plenty of food for the fish, I caught a ton of Bluegill, Redear, and Bass that summer in areas where tons of Cicadas were falling into the water from the trees.

Are the whites surfacing in the jumps yet? By hybrids..you talking about wipers? We usually pick up a few whites while trolling, however strangely enough didn't hit a one last yr...but I heard they were more out on the main lake then. Also, with all that high water...what is the skeeter situation down there now? We have been plagued with biting midges up here in Indiana.

A few were, I think the largest was about 11 inches though. Some were a bit smaller. We normally only keep males, but a female with eggs sqeaked in on us.

What are you guys using for red ears down there? I know the bait of choice around here is worms on the bottom, but we use a lot of wax worms and crickets for gills as well. I did pick up some of your local "sheltons bugs" last year while down there. Those are good baits. Reminds me of a rubber version of a capstone spider.

I make my own bugs to use. We've been tipping them with redworms but we use the dropshot method to keep the bug out of the vegetation.

Any of you guys target the smallmouth down there? I've caught a few of the main lake points targeting the gravel points while fishing for LM. Someone told me they went out at night with spinner baits and fished for them. Most of mine have come from dragging chiggercraw or something like that around. I'd like to try and get my son-in-law into a few of them. They are fun if you can snag onto one.
