Get you some small long shank hooks #4 or #6. Small split shot and small floats.
Use light tackle get some worms or crickets and set back and have a ball with you mom..
Find a comfortable place for your mom to set in the shade and if your not worried about size you can find bluegill.
Take you kids fishing today!!! They will be grown (and married and have children of their on) tomorrow. Then you can take your GRANDKIDS!

Cast out to about 20 feet and slowly drag it back, pausing alot. Put a redworm on and hang on. Find you some rocky/sandy areas and have at it. Tell mom to hold on tight cuz the redear is coming to take that pole away!

Try rigging with your split shot on bottom and the hook about 6-10 inches up from that, sometimes that keeps the bait out of the grass mats and works wonders when they don't seem to be biting.
