Caught this redear last weekend on north Barkley in a bay off main channel in 6 ft of water on a 6 1/2" brush hog I was throwing around for bass when the crappie wouldn't bite for me. I had a short shank hook on it, so she had to inhale the whole bait for me to hook her.

Plenty of bays to find the shellcrackers in May. Just pick one close to where you are staying and test it out.
