Keep us posted. My in-laws live in Princeton, I am taking some vacation time soon and plan to spend a week fishing (mostly Barkley)
Just waiting to see how you fellows start doing when the water stablizes a little.

    Good luck and enjoy !!

Don't be too disappointed with the falling water & cooler weather. These fish have been up in the flooded brush where we couldn't get to'um. This fall'n water may flush'um out of hiding (no pun intended) and concentrate them on contour/depth changes. I feel like there's still a lot of deeper fish that haven't made their move yet and may not be as affected by the front. I think they'll be acclimated to the cooler weather before the weekend is over and be more predictable. I'm try'n to be optimistic.

I hope & pray for you and your son to have a GREAT trip. Swing by & see me if you're in the neighborhood. Big Bear Lot 73.

This past bad winter and ice has got me off my game a little and I'm not as in touch with the fish as I normally am this time of year but if I find some fish I'll be happy to share some info to help ya out. I'm sure the other guys will too. Good bunch & some pretty darn good crappie fishermen down here

I figure the bottom line is "The fish have to eat". Falling water might mess things up for a few days, but they are going to find the shad and eat them no matter what the water is doing. I kind of have hopes that it might actually bunch the fish up compared to where they'd have been in higher water.

Oh it will. When you find'um you'll usually find a bunch. Find a ditch close to the shallows & get in it. Follow it out to deeper water & you'll find fish.

BTW. The camper is moved just in time for the big freeze Friday morning. This water & weather are about to pi$$ me off!

Wiskers this is Shannon. We just rolled back into Illinois this afternoon (Wednesday). Had a great trip minus catchin them crappies. I can't thank you enough for the phone calls and advice. We tried it all buddy but I think the droppin lake killed us. We enjoyed are stay as usual, and the weather was fabulous. Again, thanks for all the phone calls and advice. If you ever want a different view head on up here to Illinois, me and some buddies would love to treat you to some fishin on Lake Shelbyville. It's a great lake for crappies, walleyes and during the summer months you can catch hundereds of white bass. Again, thanks and have a great rest of the spring. You truly are a great man. God bless.
