Exclamation Maybe the water is going to stop going up in KY and Barkley

Forecast from the TVA shows it getting to 363.23 on Friday, but the estimated inflow and estimated release will be about equal. Cross your fingers!

Looks like Friday is the day for it to peak. A little over 363. It's downhill from there, unless we (or south of us, or north of us) get more rain!

So if we get no more rain for a week and the out flow averages 140,000 cfs, how fast will it drop. Also is a dropping water level harder to fish?

They closed a lot of the gates on KY. and Barkley Dam today. Looks like they are waiting for the mighty Ohio to crest Friday at Paducah. It would not surprise me if it hits 365 pretty soon! Then they will drop the bottom out of it for the spawn. I sure hope the water temp. does not get good for the spawn during a big drawdown. The fish I had today are really loaded with eggs!

TVA site shows the flow still around 120,000, the lake level creeping up and the river falling. I read yesterday that the crest on the Ohio had already passed Louisville and was lower than expected.

Looks like the TVA is going to start dropping the lake level this week. I hope it stabalizes before my fishing trip the 1st week of April, the lake is not fun to fish with the water level in a constant state of flux. Oh will, either way still beats going to work for the week.

Looks like they opened the gates a little more around 5pm today. It's going to be dropping better than 6" a day.
