    Default spider rigging flats

i am new to spider riggin (well by myself anyway went whole life alot with friends just never done it by myself) i was wandering if i was to get on the flats like outside jonathen creek towards eggner ferry bridge and slow troll (with trolling motor either way towards bridge or away) with this be a good idea or dumb. or should i fish the points and brush out there of to the side. i just realized the other day when looking around there was alot of baitfish up on flat, just like it was striper season in august. thanks yall are really teaching me alot about this

I would guess that main lake flats would be more productive in the summer. I would concentrate on trolling in the bays right now.

I would try moving from that very location you are thinking about towards the mouth of the bay until you drop off into the creek channel.....

Then turn and follow creek channel drop off....trying both the top of the dropoff....bottom of the dropoff..and all depths in between...

Try both directions..in towards the bay and out towards the lake...following the creek channel dropoff..

I'm with Wiskers. You could luck into a few but I would be in Jonathan working the edge of the channel or the adjacent flats. There are still stumps down there, especially in the bends. There is also a lot of manmade cover on the flats as well. And don't be scared to try the west side of the 68 bridge. Crappie, especially blacks, will go shallow sooner then many people realize.
