Haven't fished there, but I'm nearby. My grandpa tells a lot of old tales about Cannon Creek, including a guy catching a catfish years ago that was almost as big as him.

Fish and Wildlife doesn't pay much attention to Cannon Creek, so it isn't really considered a "top notch" fishing spot, but that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't worth going.

However, Chenoa Lake, also located in Pineville, IS studied by the Fish & Wildlife dept. and is said to have VERY QUALITY fishing. However, this lake is almost entirely covered by a plant similiar to lily pads, which makes fishing difficult. However, some sort of weedless rig could probably catch you some quality fish here. I do believe it isn't very far from the town of Pineville.
