I agree that there are plenty of other spots to fish. You can go to any other bay and find crappie with way less people. As a matter of fact I make it a point to do that most of the time to find new spots and go against the grain. I guess I am a little crazy like that but I like to hunt out new spots and don't care for the crowds. Nothing against you fishing in Blood River or anything. Just what I like to do. We call it "hunting out the no namer bays"! It is fun! There are ALOT of crappie in that lake and they don't all get together and decide to head to Blood River or Jonathan Creek at a certain time of the year. They do their thing in whatever area that they are in.

LOL !!! .... Quackr, if you have so many places to fish to get away from the crowd, I'd think you would want people to go to those other "2 to 3 places". You live there, so you know the place & can fish it more often than these other folks. They may only get a few chances to come to the lake, so naturally they want to have a productive trip. With these creeks/coves being the biggest, it's only natural that they're going to draw the biggest crowds .... not to mention that they're promoted, advertised, and talked about more than most of the others.

I've fished Kentucky Lake twenty some times over the last 14 years and have never fished Jonathan Creek or Blood River. Never needed to! This lake has alot of water & alot of good crappie in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just wish I lived closer!!!!!

Don't mind Quackr, he just like stirring the pot. He fishes everywhere and does quite well. I also fish BR and although I don't mind everyone and their brother fishing there it makes for terrible parking. I live about 7 miles from Wildcat and when spring hits the air, finding a parking spot is what gets to me. And some people really chap my hide when they drive their own vehicle down to meet someone else in their boat and they park their car in a boat parking spot. AAARRRRGGGG, come on guys be a little more considerate. It sucks to have to drive twice that or better to find another place to put in because of the lack of parking space. I too try to seek out the lone bays that most people pass up, but having to drive so far and then the long boat ride isn't fun especially on those windy days. That being said, I hope everyone catches fish this spring. Come on up or down to the area and spend lots of money to help the local economy.

mepperson makes a good point too. You guys bring a comfortable pair of shoes because the hike from where you have to park to the boat ramp at Wildcat Creek is going to be a long one the first week of April.

Enjoy your stay and try not to swamp one another.

It always boggles my mind how big these two lakes are and everybody wants to fish the same brush pile.

I think you're the one that needs to chill out. I don't know how you got that I think I own the place from that post. I even put a :D in it.

I understand about not being crowded in fact you probly have never seen 50 boats in a two acre area in early summer on lake mich. when the jumbo perch starts. That being said i have fished all over several different states and dont like the crowds my self. I am just trying to map the area so we are not coming down there blind i have no problem trailering my boat an hour each day to find fish! we are staying at johnathon creek it is just a starting point. come on up to indiana quack i would be happy to put you on some perch our hotels marina and bait shops could use the business you could even tie to my boat. lol

From my first trip on Saturday, I can imagine that the parking is a real problem in April.

It will be bad the first weekend in April (Saturday April 2nd) Rush. On top of all the regular fishermen the Crappie USA tournament is going on. You'll have to be waiting for the gate to open at Wildcat to get a parking spot. I keep a camper over at Water Edge across from Wildcat. I can be there by myself launching while Wildcat has a line waiting to back in. Costs me a little but it is nice. And I admit I usually fish the LBL in late March and April to get away from the crowd. You catch a good fish in Blood in early April and before you know its like the Indians circling the wagon train. I keep waiting for an arrow to cross the bow! LOL But hey, it is still fishing that we all love or we wouldn't be on here. Things could be worse.
