My Father went to Nam he was 17 when he inlisted, during his time over there he was awarded the purple heart, came home and served another 5 or 6 years inactive. He never talked about it, so I have never asked to much but when I did he told me he pulled jeeps out of the mud alot. I have always been PROUD OF MY DAD and I can remember when I was a senior in highschool I had a political science teacher that was supposedly teaching us about the war and the only thing he was teaching us was in his point of view is he was telling us the war was wrong. To make a long story short, when I heard him say that my blood boiled and I had some real choice words that was said and they had to get a few other teachers to get me to the principals office I wasnt violent or anything I just wouldnt leave the class because I was telling him what I thought of him and his class. After that I was excused from his class until the subject of the war was over. To this day I still dont respect that teacher nor will I ever. Thanks to all.

EZGO,
Good job in standing up for what you know and believe was the truth and your father. I didn't get drafted in 71, my lottery number was 327 out of 365. They only took the first 183 that year. However, I lost 2 friends in the war and my mother in law lost a brother. I personally thank all of those that served and their call of duty in the Vietnam War in keeping our freedoms that we believe in.
