    Default Dropping Water

Hey guys, how do you think dropping water levels (going from summer to winter pool) effect the fishing.

I've always thought that it pulled fish away from the bank, IF they were close to begin with. They may not change the depth they're suspended at, but they do seem to pull back to the next closest structure/depth change. Fast drops in water levels usually send them into hiding, and shut down the bite for a bit. Slow drops just seem to cause them to back off from their shallower depth holdings, and slow the bite some. Right now, water temps & baitfish movement/location are the prime factors ... and dropping water levels can affect both. Once water levels are stable, water temps are down into the low 60's, baitfish schools are heading into the backs of creeks/bays, and the weather stops yo-yoing up & down (temp wise) ... IT IS ON !!
