    Default Crappie Bite

Anyone having any luck catching crappie? I have been last 4 weekends with very minimal luck. Fished farm lake yesterday with lots of nice crappie and only managed 1. Does any one know what won the crappie tourney at Green River this past weekend? Guess just weather and lack of rain.

I think fishing has been tough for everyone here recently. We all pretty much blanked at the Crappie.Com get together at Kentucky. High pressure, blue bird skies and drastic temperature fluctuations are probably to blame. Wish it would cloud up for a while, we need the rain and it might just turn the fish on too.

I went out Monday and scratched out 16 big blacks and lost 5 more at the boat. Day started out with some cloud cover and fish were bite'n good. Clouds moved out & the bite got tuff!

Fished Green last Wednesday and the bite was slow. Picked up 9 keepers and probably 15 or so smaller fish. The water was still crystal clear and air temps of 38 in the morning and near 80 in the afternoon have the fish confused much like me. Flat calm with overcast skies but a storm forced me off the lake at noon. We need some rain and the water to cloud up for the bite to pick up. We've also had one heck of a shad crop this year as there were acres and acres of shad at the surface in Robinson creek and the fish didn't have to work hard for a meal, they were just laying under the baitfish schools and gorging themselves.

Oh, I see Wiskers, you turned them loose after we left, had them caged up while we were there, haha

Crappie should hopefully turn on at the end of next week hopefully. From looking at the weather forecast rain and a big cool down and even some strong storms possible. Looks like may have to go to Nolin, thanks for the report there its a goodn.

no problem for the report. i think a lot of guy's dont tell when they are haveing good day's because they are scared some one will be fishing their spot but i dont eat fish so i just wont to see every one have fun and catch some fish. the bite at nolin is good enough that pumkin head and i whent through 200 minnows in 6 hours of fishing with one rod a peice tight lineing brush about 14 ft deep. so fellows if your not catching fish and thinking of heading to nolin send me a pm and i would be glad to try and take you or help!
