Go to Mechanics Corner - boats, motors and trailers . Discribe the problem & I bet there will be somebody that can help figure out what the problem is. These guys are sharp!

I live just outside Hodgenville. I keep my boat at Green River and have had good luck the last 2 years with Performance Marine in Campbellsville right on 55 before you turn into the state park. Before I moved the boat I always had good luck with R&W in Etown. Not the friendliest of people out front sometimes but the service guys always shot me straight when I had issues with my outboard.

    Derrick,
Would like to get your opinion. Got a call from the shop yesterday and they said they finally found the problem. Put all 3 carbs on a flow meter and flow is very erratic. Said Yamaha had a problem with these 99 Vmax carbs with some ports getting dirty and can't be cleaned and would need 3 new carbs.
Are they pulling my leg? I could see one carb , but all 3.
    Would appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
