Great tip on the bobber stop, never would have thought to use it as a depth indicator.

Dave, thanks for the help. I understand now.
My boat is broke down right now, but hopefully next weekend I'll be back after them.

73 today ... pretty good day 3 of us should have had our limit....
hey rocketman,
where were you fishing and how
dave
I'll be on the water tomorrow morning bright and early. Gotta buy bait and then put in at Lone Valley. See you guys out there.
The fish were real scattered on the flats this morning. Managed 30 total , 8 keepers-but had to work for every one. Strong winds early made it hard to keep the boat in position, then it started getting warm.
When you say "Flats" are you talking about flat areas in the main lake? Are you fishing brush piles on the flats? Just trying to figure out what your saying I'm a NEWBIE:D
Hey Tracker Man--I was part of that flotilla this morning. Don't know how many fish I caught, maybe 45 and only had three fish over 10". Where's the BIG ones? Wind was a bit breezy early but when it quit it did get hot. Fished mostly in 23' of water dropping down to the bottom and 3-4 cranks up, minnows.
Water temp started out around 79 and was 82 when I left at 1:30. Did try my hand at long-lining for a bit.
If the gentlemen that gave me the baits and some advice on rigging are reading this~~THANKS! Did manage to catch two.
Looking forward to fishing with David Jones later this month and learning more about Green. Very nice lake.
You can't finish what you don't start
I would say you were fishing too deep... We were only fishing 10-12' with Dave last week.. It was hard fishing also, we hit at least 20-25 spots. We caught alot of 8" fish........ Next Spring should be awesome! I already have him booked twice in April![]()
The main lake bite was slow so I headed up past Homes Bend into the river to find some fish, almost all were in wood less than 15' deep.
