    Smile Summer Time Fun

My local Church had its annual fishing tounament on Smithland Pool this past week. The fishing was for crappie and bass. There were about a dozen boats fishing in the tournament. The fishing for the crappie was fairly tough but the bass fishing was quite good. The river was still fairly muddy but the creeks had descent water color. After the weigh-in there was a big fish fry at the Church with more good food than you could hope for. Here are some pics.

Huck Jr. with his big crappie, it weighed 1 lb 11 ozs.

We only weighed in 3 crappie but it was enough to take first place.

We went fishing a couple of days latter with our good buddy - the Net Man. We caught about 10 bass and a bunch of bluegill this day. Huck Jr. had a good bass take his buzz-bait only to get off at boatside. He also had a jumping carp hit him in the chest, he was not hurt. But none the less, he was less than happy with that fish. All the fish we caught were released.

The heavens declare the glory of God and the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Psalm 19:1

That's a good crappie and really good one for this time of the year in a river trib, at least in the areas I fish. Congratulations

Looks like a lotta fun. Nothin' better than a father and son fishing trip.
