    Default East Fork Lake, OH

I went to EFL yesterday, Tues. Crappie fished. Caught around 10 crappie, 4 keepers, 1-13", 2-12" and 11". All caught on black/chartreuse 1/16 jigs jigging around vertical structure in 8-15' of water.
All were females and had eggs in them, June 1st and still spawning??? We also caught one bass, several small gills and a channel cat. We didn't have minnows. Should have been there about 2-3 weeks ago. Oh well, at least I got out for a while. We fished from 10-2:30.

I was pleasantly surprized when I fished last Sat. and Sunday. I started at daylight and was ready to quit from the heat when I finally started seeing the pleasure boaters/water lice start up around 10AM. Both days I had the lake practically to myself and was catching a good many fish. There were only a couple trucks/trailers at most in the parking lot on both mornings.

They sure are beat up from the spawn though. Scars and bloody fins and empty bellies. Looks like something was picking on that big crappie, it was missing the top half of its dorsal fin.

Nate, those are some fine slabs! you may have mentioned it already, but how were you catching them? single pole jigging, sprider rigging or pulling?

My son and I ran up to Lake Malone yesterday afternoon. Dodged thunderstorms on the way up, but weather turned out pretty nice, but very hot, once we got on the water. This was a bluegill/ go-devil trip. We had fun and made it competitive. Harrison and his fly rod against me and the "Shelton" bug tipped with a wax worm. We had a race to 40, and he ended up beating me by one fish. Caught an assortment of bluegill, bass and catfish. I believe I enjoyed watching Harrison working that fly-rod as much as I did catching fish. He is very good with one. (Sure didn't take after me in that category)

We ran a go-devil for some green carp after dark and I landed one nice bass. I'm almost ashamed to post it here. Can't wait to make another crankbait trip for crappie.

All and all it was a fun trip, during the heat of the summer I tend to become an equal opportunity fisherman.

We finally got to go out friday for the first time since the great flood. Ended up with 33 keepers. Had the lake to ourselves from daylight until about 11, but it surprisingly was still not to bad. Loaded up around 1, bad looking storm was a commin'.

Hey brad, I caught em single pole fishin with slip bobbers/miiows and jigs. They were fairly shallow by cave run standards, 5' down in 10-12. Was my 1 st time out since the monsoons and didnt know what to do. Scanned a bunch of water with SI and gonna go back and try to get em sp riggin or pulling cuz theyre in the right places. Wish there was a good bluegill/cracker lake here close. I heard malone has some double digit bass in it, thats a good one you got there.

Stnsbury...Thats a good day after being off the water for a while. How does green look? You spider riggin to get those fish?
