Looks like you had better bring plenty of things to do while the houseboat is sitting in the slip. The lakes are closed to traffic.

Sound like they opened the lake back up!!! What do you think the high water will do to the fishin?
They have not opened Barkley.
and not all of KY is opened back up yet, either. The Cumberland River remains closed in the vicinity of Carthage, Tenn. (mile marker 313.6) to Smithland, Ky. (mile marker 0), including Lake Barkley.
I was asked to fly the lakes with the US Coast Guard today to offer my opinion for allowing boating in embayments. It appears my day was not spent in vain. The Coast Guard has opened up more of KY Lake. Every thing from river mile 27 south is open. That river mile is about at the mouth of Little Bear. On Lake Barkley, due to all the drifting debris it remains closed to recreational traffic thru Monday (May 10th). The current prediction for Barkley is a crest on Friday at 369.5, then a slow fall with a level around 367 by Wednesday of next week. The worst may be behind us, pending the forecasted rain is not significant next week. The drift will still be a problem as the water falls and the debris is pulled out of the woods. As for the fish. I believe the sunfish and bass took advantage of the highwater and to spawn. I don't believe it will be a poor spawn, because the water has been up long enough for them to spawn and the eggs to hatch.
Not sure why you feel the need to move your boat now. Other than... As we flew the lakes today, the only danger I noticed was some large boats looked to be very close to roofs of the docks. IF the docks have spud poles that limit how high the dock can rise and they stop, while the water continues to rise, then the boat would be sandwiched between the water and the dock roof. Something you might want to call the marine and ask them.
