Wouldn't waste my time fishing there for them, small ones. A few years back 1.03lbs. won the crappie tournament. 2 yrs in a roll never caught keeper fish that is why.

They aren't down on the main-lake as far as I can tell, i went for a little bit yesterday evening. Could be up the river though. Temps in scotts creek yesterday were 65-67. Shad are starting to make it further up the creeks than just the mouths now. The lake is still drawn down, im betting as soon as it hits summer pool those fish will be on the banks. Lots of fish and bait suspended around the 10' mark but in much deeper water water. Blacks might be spawning, but I havent found em' doin their thing. its usually may till the white crappie are spawning good at the cave.

We need the rain ... but, we don't need the whole months worth in a weeks time. :rolleyes:
Keep us posted about the conditions, & changes, over the next couple of weeks ... if you would, please. If the lake doesn't make too drastic a change, after these rains pass ... I may just be convinced to head over that way :D

Don't think this rain will do much as of yet, if it keeps on though its gonna raise the water, gives me time to fix busted break-line on truck. Ill holler at ya CP once things pick up.

Think I'll be there next weekend if the weather is OK. Just got a new boat and as much as I am dying to get it in the water I didn't want to try pushing my luck this weekend. It's a gray War Eagle Predator with a 115 Johnson so if anybody sees me please come over and tell me what I'm doing wrong or maybe put one of your fish in my live well to break it in.

Hey CP my dad said where he lives in Owen County the gills down there have blood in there eggs, as he called it and said they were ready to drop them, I dont know if that would be a sign for the crappie or not, but hopefully the crackers come on down there soon also. I dont want to sound dumb all the time but I have crappie fished since I have been a kid but I was one of those guys that would chunk a cork and minner out there and just sit and wait. I have just got into jig fishin for them within the last two years and still learnin how to fish them better. I am wanting to make to the cave myself sometime but weekends are rough sometimes, rain, birthday parties or the wife wants to shop/go to supermarket, well I guess we got to eat, when they come on down there I am sure Eky will find some.

Have not been yet, I am wanting to go but weekends are the better bet for me. So everytime I get some time it is raining I am wanting to go but the water might be in the parking lots, Anyone know water conditions down there?
