    Default Green River Report

Couldn't make the get together Saturday, was wandering where they where catching fish, I am coming down Thursday with 11 friends to stay at cabin at Green River marina and could use the help for where they are biting at what depth, any help would be appreciated.

Most seemed to be catching fish about 10-14ft deep .. flats & channel edges, around submerged cover. Probably due to the cold front. Lake is about 4-5ft below Summer pool. Most of our group started fishing around the corner from Holmes Bend Marina & up towards the bridge. Water clarity was pretty normal looking, until you went past the bridge ... then it got a little dirty looking, but not enough to be concerned about.

With the weather forecast ... I'd be looking for the whole lake to turn on, and fish to be coming to the banks.

Joey is correct .... next Saturday is the Crappie USA tournament, there.

TAKE PLENTY OF SUN SCREEN .... and USE it !!!

    Thumbs up

Thanks for the info, knew about the tournament, but had already rented cabin and everyone had put in for vacations, except those retired, but this our yearly get together and any fish caught are just a bonus.

We went Sunday, April 11th. We had a lot of luck to the right of Holmes Bend along the east rock wall. We were fishing minnows 10-12 ft deep about 50-75' off the rock wall.

In about 3 hours we caught around 50 of which 30 were keepers with 2 15" ones. All on minnows.

They are slowly moving up. Friday and saturday the majority of fish fish were in 10ft+ plus water. Sunday we caught a lot of good fish 3 ft down in 4-6 ft of water, but they left the shallows by lunchtime and moved out to channels and drops.. Here a few from sunday. Wont be long and they will be on the banks Id say. Green is a nice lake.

Me and a buddie fished Fri, Sat and Sun. We both limited out all three days with Sun being the best. Sunday we had our limit by 11:00 am. Some really nice fish. Alot of 11-13 inch fish. Caught quite a few 14-15.5 inch fish. Friday we caught them in 15-19 fow fishing 4-8 ft deep on channel ledges and in 12ft of water fishing 8-11 ft deep on flats. Saturday we found them in 12 ft of water fishing 10-12 ft deep and in 7-9 fow fishing 3-6 ft deep. Sunday caught them all in 11-13 fow fishing 4-8 ft deep on flats. All were caught on minnows. We took 3lbs with us and still had to buy another 600. Good luck to all.
