The first 20 days of April is always a good time.
My Advice: Try to fish in the Tennessee portion of the lake.
Fish around Paris Landing State Park, and from there all the way south to Interstate 40. The water usually warms up faster in some of the shallow coves in that area.
There are a lot of good shell mounds to fish, and you can avoid overcrowding.
This time of year the north end of KY Lake is very crowded and it gets fished by a lot of people.
So usually if you fish south of U.S 79 it is less crowded. There are some massive crappie, and bass in the part of the lake.
Orange, green, and pink crappie jigs, have been working well in that area of the lake.
Good Luck with your fishing season.
I live 10 miles from the 160,000 acre Kentucky Lake, and the 57,000 acre Barkley Lake is within 25 miles of my house. I live 10 miles from 220,000 acres of Water.
I live in an Outdoor Paradise
