I'm headed to barren for a little camping/fishing trip. (crappy) on april 24-25. I'm taking a friend from work that hasn't fished in along time and I wanna put him on some fish I need some ideas of areas to fish. Peter? What you all think.

    Thanks In advance

Try any brushpiles on flats in Peters Creek at that time. I have had some good catches of fish(post spawn) on flats, in late April and early May They were shallow too. Caught fish with minnow and bobber 3-5ft. deep on flats in 10-12ft. of water. At that time most fish may have moved out of the coves and may be relating to off shore structure more. Something to keep in mind, all depends on lake level and temperature. If they are not shallow in coves, give this a try, and another option I have used at this time is night fishing a channel bluff for post spawn fish works well this time of year too. Good luck. Post back when it gets closer and I will try and update you, I will be fishing, if I am still breathing.

Hopefully the water will be up by then and you can catch them on about any brush near the channels. I like to start about 12 feet deep, but usually wherever the finder is showing the fish. There is all kinds of brush all over the lake, but I'd start in areas that are close to the channels. Good luck
